Job Overview

• Based in Lyneham, Wiltshire we are looking for a General Labour Operative to conduct physical tasks to facilitate day-to-day operations across a large site. The range of activities include re-location of furniture, stores and equipment, assist in waste management on site and support to the Stores organisation.

Main Duties

• • Ensure timely and safe service delivery of heavy and light porterage tasks as directed.
  • Undertake general labour duties (such as construction of temporary structures).
  • Act as a driver to escort/deliver and collect stores/freight as directed.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of freight.
  • Assist with Stores duties including stock checks.
  • Escort visitors/contractors when required.
  • Work with and support the Customer for authorised events
  • Collection and disposal of waste
  • Actively promote a safe working culture and adhere to the Health and Safety procedures, processes and the law
  • Undertake other tasks as determined by the Line Manager, including, any requirements in line with business needs.

  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements

  • Good customer facing skills and the ability to develop close working relationships
  • Basic IT literacy
  • Forklift Truck experience/Licence would be an advantage, not essential as training can be provided.
  
  

  Any experience of the MOD Supply Chain system would be an advantage.
