Horticultural Teacher for Alternative Provision School

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire - £130 to £150 per day

Contract Type: Part-time

We are looking for a part-time Horticultural Teacher to join our team at an Alternative Provision (AP) Secondary School in Watford, Hertfordshire. The school is a large AP school with 72 children on roll. Students are supported both academically and pastorally to make the very best of their education by supplying them with the life skills needed to be successful.

As a Horticultural Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality horticultural lessons that will enable our students to develop their practical skills and build their knowledge of plants and nature. You will work closely with our team of dedicated educators to ensure that our students are provided with the best possible education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality horticultural lessons
• Create and maintain the schools garden and equipment
• Provide regular feedback to students and their parents/guardians
• Help provide a passion for horticulture
• Develop positive relationships with students, parents, and other stakeholders

Qualifications:

• A degree in a relevant field (such as Horticulture, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or Biology) - not essential but preferred.
• Experience teaching horticulture or related subjects to secondary school students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for working with students who require additional support to succeed
