The Research & Development department have a fixed term or secondment opportunity for a full time motivated and interested Band 5 Research Assistant to support the delivery of research studies within the Trust. The R&D Department is an integral part of the Trust's services using high quality research evidence to improve the quality and value of care.

The post-holder will work on the National Centre for Mental Health (NCMH) project,- a major national research study with the aim is to develop and evaluate ways of preventing the onset, and improving the treatment and management, of mental disorders through a better understanding of their biological, psychological and social causes. The project will lead to increased data collected.

Multiple sites will be taking part across the North East and parts of Yorkshire. While this post is hosted by Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS FT the study is being delivered in close collaboration with our neighbouring mental health NHS organization (Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS FT) and the NIHR Clinical Research Network: North East and North Cumbria's primary care support team.
