SEMH Support Assistant position at a Primary School located in East Bradford

About the role:

This SEN teaching assistant role is based in an ambitious and thriving Primary School in Bradford. They are looking to recruit an enthusiastic graduate or someone with relative teaching assistant experience for the role immediately.

This role is to support a student in KS2 with Autism and SEMH (Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs). The student has challenging behaviour and an Educational Health Care Plan and spends time both in the classroom and outside in the Intervention space. Your role as a 121 support is to build a relationship with the student and manage their behaviour and needs on a daily basis.

This is a full-time role (8:30am – 3:30pm) and will be for a temporary to a permanent position.

Your Role:

  • Assisting in the delivery of effective teaching on a one-to-one basis
  • Working with other support staff to engage pupils in sensory work
  • Preparing classroom resources
  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents
