Job Description

The post-holder is required to process domestic, clinical, and confidential waste from across the site. This includes collecting and segregating waste into the relevant waste stream. The post holder will be required to work outside in all conditions (PPE is provided). The waste service runs 365 days per year including bank holidays and weekends these are allocated on a shift basis.
  • The post holder will be responsible for the removal of all types of waste from around the hospital site.
  • Ensure the safe operation and condition of premises, plant, and equipment at all times in accordance with health and safety.
  • Must be comfortable working in an exposed area in all weather conditions.
  • Ensure the premises and equipment are maintained and kept in a clean and Serviceable condition.
  • Attend training as required to meet statutory and service needs within the waste Service.
  • Ensure compliance with written documentation for all aspects of waste Services.
  • From time to time, it may be required for the post holder to work in other areas of the Trust, in such instances the post-holder will receive the appropriate training.
  • General labour, including loading, unloading, and handling items from facility users as required.
