The Role & Team
This exciting new role is within the Street based team, young and safe. The street based team is a targeted youth work team and works afternoons and evenings between 5pm to 10pm in parks and open spaces within the area.

The role supports young people in informal education settings on issues such as drugs and substance misuse, sexual health, exploitation, and other adolescent risks. Providing positive activities via a youth bus, detached youth work and youth sessions working in partnership with other agencies.

Your Responsibilities
We are looking for a confident, self-motivated, dedicated, and driven person to work directly with young people and professionals across a number of current issues - Including mental health and substance misuse.

You will be:

  • Empathetic, understanding and compassion at all times in order to build trusted relationships.
  • Non-judgemental and understand the child first, offender second element to the youth justice model in North East Lincolnshire and ensuring it is delivered using a whole family approach.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal effectiveness particularly about reading situations in which they may find themselves where a clear, consistent judgement of that situation will be required.

This will be underpinned with experience in working in a multi-agency model of delivery supporting young people to not enter the criminal justice system.

Start date: In line with our ‘Day One: NEL Induction Process’, we would like to aim to have the successful candidate in post by 03/07/2023.
