Job Description

We are seeking a hardworking, flexible Caretaker preferably with experience of working in a school. You will possess excellent DIY skills with the ability to carry out a wide range of minor repairs independently.

The successful candidate will have the ability to multi-task, a positive attitude and commitment to achieve the best results for the maintenance of our school.

The site location for this role will be in Wheathampstead which is approximately 5 miles from the Senior School in St Albans, Hertfordshire. The site is in a rural location and therefore site security is particularly important.

This is a permanent position, offered on a part time basis, 20 hours per week.
The working hours will be 3.00pm-7.00pm Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities:

• Movement of goods, furniture and other items around the school
• Tidying up around the premises, involving litter picking, emptying external bins and clearing entrances and exits
• Ensuring the school is ready for key events
• Conducting minor repairs and maintenance in the school – electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting tasks
• Locking and unlocking of the school premises
• Weekly fire alarm testing
• Water hygiene testing
• Support the PE department with equipment set up/clearing away
• Escorting contactors onsite as required
• Consulting with cleaning staff where necessary
