Her Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) is home to the United Kingdom’s Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, Astute Class Attack Submarines, Sandown Class Mine Hunter Vessels and 43 Cdo Royal Marines. It is an operational support and maintenance base, within the Navy Command TLB and comprises both Faslane and Coulport sites. HMNB Clyde’s primary purpose is to provide engineering and logistical support to the Royal Navy in maintaining Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD). This is achieved by ensuring at least one Vanguard Class submarine is on patrol at sea every day of the year.
RNAD Coulport is responsible for the storage, processing, maintenance and issue of the Trident Weapon System and the ammunitioning of all submarine-embarked tactical weapons.
Branch Overview: Deputy Head Infrastructure (DHI) Directorate is responsible for informing, coordinating and integrating all nuclear and non-nuclear infrastructure projects within HMNB Clyde, working with Delivery Partners to deliver a c.£1.8Bn capital investment programme and through life maintenance support and assuring that Tier 1 suppliers comply with Clyde safety management arrangements.

This post may be eligible for the NSQEP Recruitment Retention Allowance of up to £4000 per annum. This allowance is discretionary and will be dependent on a candidate's ability to successfully demonstrate the necessary competency, qualifications, and experience to an independent panel of Subject Matter Experts.
This post is on the MOD Civilian Nuclear Post Control List (PCL) and could attract the Nuclear Recruitment and Retention Allowance (RRA). The post being on the PCL does not mean that the post holder will automatically receive the RRA however, as this is a discretionary allowance. The NSQEP RRA is a temporary allowance and, in line with MOD Main and Submarine Delivery Agency policy, could be changed or withdrawn without notice.
The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
