Job Description

As part of the roll out of Central Governments Drug Strategy from Harm to Hope, Peterborough City Council has been awarded a significant grant over 2 years to support those in Structured Substance Misuse Treatment with Housing Problems. The Grant will be used to fund a range of housing and support projects for those with drug and alcohol problems. This is focussed on improving the housing situation and outcomes for relevant clients in treatment. This role will have commissioning oversight of these projects
and manage the commissioned services and budgets.

This post will help to increase the numbers of people in drug and Alcohol treatment and the quality of services being offered. The Post will also support the commissioning of other homelessness Services funded by Peterborough City Councils Public Health Team.

The role will have day to day management responsibilities for the budget for Housing Related Support Services for Substance Misuse and will also have oversight of the budget for the funded Substance Misuse services for homeless people.

The post holder will collaborate with Homelessness Projects, Housing Teams, Substance Misuse Services and a range of other services and lead on overseeing the initial setting up, embedding and on-going contract management of new Substance Misuse Housing Related Support Projects in Peterborough. The post will also contribute and support other Substance Misuse Projects commissioned in Peterborough.

You will be developing partnership working processes, project plans and commissioning strategies with a wide group of internal and external stakeholders. Ultimately devising robust service specifications with measurable outcomes, monitoring those outcomes to demonstrate the benefit the service has for the people and communities of Peterborough - strengthening the Council’s role as Commissioner.

You will have experience of commissioning services, ideally working in either housing related / homelessness services or the substance misuse field. Educated to a degree level but transferable skills would be considered for the right candidate.
Fixed Term until 31st March 2024 (possible extension until 31st March 2025)
