About the Role

Vida Healthcare is looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking person to manage our busy prescribing & dispensing team, on a full-time basis. This position will be based predominantly at the Carole Brown Health Centre in Dersingham, however multi-site working will be expected on occasion, covering King's Lynn, Hunstanton and Downham Market, in addition to Dersingham.
The dispensary manager will be responsible for providing a high-quality service to patients across our practices. You can expect to be mentored and supported by the organisation, whilst you are empowered to deliver care and support.

The responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Managing the prescribing & dispensing team, across all Vida sites.
  • Stock management and purchasing, whilst making cost effective decisions.
  • Attending and/or schedule regular meetings with lead GPs and the management team.
  • Attending ICB meetings where necessary.
  • Ensuring month end submissions to the PPA are on time and accurate.
  • Carrying out DSQS/audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with any external processes (such as CQC).
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of current dispensing issues and requirements through the use of appropriate bodies/associates.
  • Showing a clear understanding of regulations associated with prescribing and dispensing of medications to the public.
  • Attending relevant training to meet the requirements of the role and improve skills.
  • Assisting and creating staff rotas, ensuring there is adequate cover across all sites when there is department absence.
  • Liaising with the pharmacy technician for an effective handover between the departments.
  • Working with prescribing staff within the PCNs.

About the Candidate

  • hold a recognised prescribing and dispensing qualification, NVQ or equivalent.
  • demonstrate previous managerial experience, including supervision, appraisal and grievance procedures.
  • have experience of working in a dispensary or pharmacy environment.
  • be able to work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients.
  • prioritise high-quality service delivery, complete confidentiality and patient satisfaction.
