Financial Analyst – FP&A & Reporting

The Abacus Careers team are exclusively supporting The Bank of London to appoint the most talented professionals from the local marketplace as they build their new Belfast based ‘UK Centre of Excellence’. The Bank of London now require a Financial Analyst within their FP&A team to come on board.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join our finance team and work with the leadership teams to support, guide and manage financial activities and deliverables. The role involves a high level of partnering across the business. This is an excellent role for a candidate who has strong technical knowledge, finance skills and experience working in a busy, fast paced and wide-ranging role.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You will play a key role in the Group’s financial planning, analysis and regulatory reporting activities to ensure the highest possible standard. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance analyst to join the team reporting into the FP&A Director and Head of Regulatory Reporting. This role requires strong technical skills.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountabilities – Assist the FP&A Director with:

  • Preparation of Board reporting, including any KPIs and metrics
  • Preparing management accounts and regulatory submissions within deadlines, on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Monitor and report on the bank’s budget performance, variance analysis, and cash flow
  • Financial and regulatory plans and forecasts
  • Perform reconciliations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations
  • Support leadership with the analysis and information needed to make major operational, financial, and strategic decisions
  • Communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

WHAT YOU BRING

The ability to analyse, appraise and improve all systems and processes within a FP&A and reporting environment

  • Chartered accounting qualification
  • Self-starter with a bias to action
  • Strong excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Not essential but a plus to have
  • Experience of regulated institutions
  • Experience with financial reporting cycles
