We are looking for a confident and talented Video Editor & Graphic Designer to assemble recorded footage & graphics into finished projects that match a brief. You should be able to bring sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story.

You may work on a variety of assets for the following, Social media, Website, YouTube, Advertising and Print.

The ideal candidate should also have expert knowledge of modern video & graphic editing techniques, be able to visualise directorial concepts and work according to a strict time schedule and create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media.

You should also have a creative mind and great storytelling skills, strong communication skills to interpret and negotiate briefs and excellent accuracy and attention to detail when finalising designs.

Time management skills and the ability to cope with several projects at once is also a key part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

Video editing:

  • Work to a brief
  • Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
  • Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
  • Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
  • Create rough and final cuts
  • Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
  • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and the industry’s best practices to maximise efficiency
  • Experiment with styles and techniques, including the design of graphic elements
  • Maintaining continuity while moving shots according to scene value

Graphic design:

  • Collaborate and brainstorm with teams on a wide range of materials that may include web pages, presentations, newsletters and marketing materials
  • Use appropriate colours and layouts for each graphic
  • Work with copywriters to produce the final design
  • Test graphics across various media
  • Amend designs after feedback
  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
  • Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity
  • Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts and develop interactive design
  • Find innovative ways to redefine a design brief within time and cost constraints

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in both video editing and graphic design
  • Professional mastery of video and audio editing software and programs like Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve and/or Final Cut and graphic design & image editing software like Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop (or similar software)
  • Demonstrable video editing & graphic design ability with a strong portfolio
  • Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, advertisements, and multimedia design.

Desired:

  • Professional level of ability on Adobe After Effects
  • Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of WordPress and content management systems
  • Photography/videography experience

Education:

  • Bachelor's (preferred but not essential)

Working Pattern:

  • Monday to Friday - 37 hours pw
  • Weekends may be required if there are events on and real-time editing is required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
