We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Highways Supervisor to join our Area 12 account in Shillinghill. This is an onsite role.
The salary for this role is between £30,000 and £35,000 depending on your experience and qualifications.
Area 12 is working in partnership with Highways England since June 2021. Area 12 is made up of 476km dual carriageway, 179km single carriageway and 1,963 structures.
We provide routine, cyclic and winter maintenance and response across Yorkshire and Humberside, also overseeing traffic management during incidents and the operation of the ten maintenance depots in the region.
Ensuring our roads are well- maintained and well- managed, through all-weather seasons we aim to help reduce traffic incidents and severity of road accidents as well as ensure road user of Yorkshire and Humberside feel safer.
The Highways Supervisor plays an important part in assisting the Operational Team and Ganger by managing all routine and reactive maintenance activities of emergency response operations. This will be done through the planning and supervision of schemes throughout the network to deliver the works safely, to the required quality, on programme and within budget.
The standard hours of work are 40 hours per week Monday – Friday, with overnight & weekend working as required by the business.

We want to hear from you if you have a good commercial awareness from your previous experience of Highways Maintenance contracts. Your detailed operational knowledge supports your team management skills, helping with excellent organisational and communication abilities. It is essential that you are willing to work outside in all weather conditions and hold a valid UK driving licence for this role.
Ideally you will be qualified in CDM Awareness with experience in CAT Scanner (Highways) and environmental awareness.
In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have NRSWA Supervisor or NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds qualifications to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
