Salary: £43,742 - £50,056 per annum/pro rata

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to undertake the role of a clinical pharmacist in our acute and emergency medicine care group. This would be ideal for anyone looking to develop from a current Band 6 hospital pharmacist role or for a current Band 7 pharmacist who may be looking to work in a NHS hospital environment.
As a band 7 clinical pharmacist you will cover the admissions areas, joining our team of pharmacists and technicians providing medicines optimisation support and advice to our adult inpatient wards.
You will have the opportunity to experience a variety of areas and continue to challenge yourself to grow as a pharmacist by joining post take ward rounds and leading on developing excellent care within the acute and emergency medicine care group.

Medway hospital is the largest hospital in Kent. It is a single-site hospital based in Gillingham, near London, which serves a population of more than 424,000 across Medway and Swale.
The Trust is split into two divisions that are further split into care groups including peri-operative and critical care, women’s and children’s, surgical services, cancer services, acute and emergency care, therapies and older persons, and specialist medicine.
The pharmacy department sits in the diagnostics and clinical support services care group that also includes specialist haematology services.
Our team endeavours to provide a comprehensive, efficient and safe pharmacy service to all clinical areas. This is to ensure we are consistently contributing to quality improvements in both prescribing and overall patient care.

The pharmacy department is expanding and has over 100 members of staff. We also host a number of PCN pharmacists from across the ICP. We have strong links with the Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) and ICB, particularly working collaboratively with the ICB medicines optimisation pharmacy team, acute Trusts and other community healthcare providers in the region.
We are developing strong links with the local Medway School of Pharmacy and other Higher Education Institutions in order to build our research capacity across the system and have recently recruited a specialist pharmacist research lead.
We are modern and innovative, progressively driving the service forward with an increasing number of specialist pharmacist and technician positions.
We also provide operational services for homecare, aseptics, procurement, distribution, clinical trials, outpatient and inpatient dispensary.
