Job Description

Butler Rose is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join my client, a business in the Torbay area who have a current requirement for a Production Coordinator. As a Production Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of work-in-progress (WIP) through the production line, while achieving or surpassing delivery expectations. Your main responsibilities will include facilitating on-time starts, resolving capacity and technical problems in a timely and effective manner, and maintaining accurate WIP records on all relevant systems. Additionally, you will liaise with planning, engineering, and purchasing to ensure materials are provided and stock levels are replenished.   • Collaborating with Production to ensure all operators are working on the correct product every day and every hour in adherence to the production plan.
  • Ensuring that production starts on time by working closely with the planner to guarantee that materials, build instructions, resources, and equipment are available, on time, for production.
  • Managing overproduction throughout the line by overseeing overbuilds, reworks, regrades, and work-in-progress and finished goods .
  • Instilling a deadline mentality on the shop floor and focusing on exceeding on-time delivery targets throughout the line and to customers.
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate data on all relevant systems, including tracking data for WIP, works orders, and items on hold.
  • Monitoring and reporting on WIP and FG levels throughout the line, including identifying potential capacity constraints.
  • Driving customer focus on the shop floor by communicating customer requests and expediting works orders as necessary.
  • Providing Planning and Customer Services with accurate expected delivery dates to respond to customer inquiries.

Skills required

  • Experience in a production environment
  • Exposure to a LEAN manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of manufacturing metrics
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing practices

Salary

  • Up to £27,000 + benefits
