VTS Senior Force Protection Instructor - Sponsored Reservist

Purpose of the Role

To ensure that AirTanker Services (ATrS) delivers engaging and compliant Force Protection, pre deployment and core competency training to meet the needs of the Royal Air Force (RAF) and ATrS Voyager community.

You will be a reservist employed by AirTanker. This is not the same as being in the RAF Reserves, which involves weekday and weekend training, and deploying as a unit to support regular Armed Forces. As an SR you will be deployed in support of Voyager. When not required for military tasks, you will return to your civilian role with AirTanker.

To qualify for SR status you must be British, Irish, part of the Commonwealth or hold a dual citizenship, be medically and dentally fit, and maintain the required fitness level.

Job Responsibilities

1. As the Voyager FP Trainer you are responsible to the Head of Voyager Training Services and OC FP, for the delivery of FP Trg and RAF core competencies for all Voyager force personnel iaw the current L-Spec’s and A-Spec’s.

2. When required you are to exercise command and effective supervision over the Voyager FP trainer and any other RAF Regt JNCOs assisting with Voyager FP training as their 1 Up.

3. In accordance with JSP 794 Part 1, Para 17 I understand that I must not administer the awarding of my own personal Competences, qualifications and training on JPA. I must seek a second authorised administrator to award. Periodic checks are conducted with breaches of policy reported to the relevant Service authorities.

4. Maintain a satisfactory level of personal fitness as required by the RAF Regiment by undertaking a minimum of 2 physical training sessions per week and the RAFFT at least annually.

5. Maintain currency in accordance with MOD 1 directive.

When required to do so, deliver training within ATrS Maintainer shift patterns to reduce turmoil

Specifically, as the FP Trainer you are :

a. Responsible for the supervision and delivery of IRT Module 1, 2 & 3 Trg to all Voyager force personnel iaw the RAF IRT policy.

b. Responsible for the supervision and delivery of Station Security Force (SSF) Trg to Voyager force personnel iaw the CAS arming and guarding directive.

c. Responsible for the supervision and delivery of Weapon Trg and Weapon Handling Tests for all current in-service weapon systems relevant to Voyager force personnel iaw relevant publications.

d. Responsible for supervising and assisting with the production of RSD’s/RASP’s/EASP’s and the conducting of LFMT iaw Pamphlet 21 and the Operational Shooting Policy.

e. Manage the production of all course documentation.

f. Carry out the duties of Senior Planning Officer when required iaw Pamphlet 21

g. Responsible for completing all mandated RAF individual Trg requirements.

h. Responsible for ensuring all training currencies are maintained.

i. Responsible for delivery of RAF core competencies including but not limited to D&I and HF

Conduct any other such training duties that may be required from time to time, as directed by the Technical Training Manager or Voyager WO Eng
