Senior Software Engineer - Bristol - 70k - 90k
A highly succseful Insurance company for Cyber Security are looking for experienced Senior Software Engineers to join their friendly team of technical staff at their Bristol offices. £70k - £90k depending upon experience.
Responsibilities for Senior Software Engineer
- Build cutting edge native infrastructure and services on top of GCP
- Deliver frameworks and services that are secure, efficient, mature and highly available that abstract away infrastructure complexity
- Optimise existing systems/services to improve performance and efficiency
- Systematically improve availability by applying industry and distributed systems best practices
- Work with other talented members of the team including data scientists, data engineers and insurance professionals to build the foundations of growth over the coming years
Key skills
for Senior Software Engineer
- 5+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast paced, high growth tech environment
- Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offerings
- Familiarity with container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- You are a full-cycle developer: strong ownership and experience building and operating high-scale, distributed systems across the full software life cycle
- Strong Python skills
- Strong SQL skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and across multi-discipline product teams
- You are a strong problem solver and have solid production debugging skills
- You are passionate about efficiency, availability, security and quality
Desirable experience
for Senior Software Engineer
- Experience with infrastructure as code software tools (e.g. Terraform)
- Experience of MLOps and the full lifecyle of production machine learning models and pipelines
- Familiarity with machine learning and related technologies
- Google Cloud Platform
- Domain experience in insurance or cyber security
Qualifications for Senior Software Engineer
- Bachelor of Science or higher in a technical degree, with specialisations related to computer science preferred
