The Real-Time Bidding (RTB) Platform owns and operates the large-scale distributed stack which allocates millions of dollars of advertising budget to billions of bid opportunities streaming into the system. As a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on Platform Reliability, you care about the health and maintainability of our systems and the velocity of the engineering teams. You write code, architect and design systems, build out proof of concepts, and compare and contrast technology alternatives that improve systems and automation throughout our products and tech stack. Working side-by-side with engineers you will build and operate real-time high-scalable systems. You’ll lead projects to optimize the throughput of the stack while reducing costs and growing platform performance.

Responsibilities:

• Engineer, operate, and constantly improve large-scale global systems that respond to millions of real-time requests per second efficiently
• Constantly improve development, testing, configuration management, monitoring, and operational tools and processes
• Profiling and optimizing bidding machines at the JVM, OS kernel, network, and CPU levels
• Setting up and running experiments to improve stability, reliability, and bidding performance across the stack
• Innovate with new designs and optimizations to improve the performance, elasticity, and fault-tolerance of existing infrastructure
• Providing tooling for other software engineers to run their services
• Managing cloud-based infrastructure for RTB systems

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience developing and working on distributed software systems as a Software Engineer, Reliability Engineer, or Site-Reliability Engineer
• Experience delivering significant improvements in scale, runtime, cost, features, or reliability under little supervision
• Excellent skills in distributed system and software design, concurrent algorithms, data structures, and software engineering
• Hands-on experience with Java, C++, Golang, or a similar language
• Experience with cloud environments like AWS and using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Degree in a topic related to Computer Science, or equivalent
• Experience in programmatic advertising, high-frequency trading, or similar high-volume, low-latency applications is highly desirable
