We have an amazing opportunity for a Support Service Manager to lead our amazing Hothfield Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Centre. Set in Kent within the 12 acre grounds of a manor house, Hothfield Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre specialises in intensive rehabilitation for people in the early stages of recovery from a brain injury right through to residential care. We care for up to 32 adults over the age of 18. Our team are also experienced in managing associated needs, such as specialist spasticity management, PEG feeds and skin integrity problems.

As a Support Service Manager you will be supporting the manager with the day to day running of the service. You will have responsibility for the daily management of the administrative, maintenance, domestic and catering services. To ensure that these activities meet regulatory standards.

What you'll be working:

37.5 hours a week – Mon-Fri 8.30am-4.30pm

What you'll be doing:


  • Delegated responsibility for the efficient and effective running of all non-clinical services within the centre. This includes administrative, maintenance, domestic and catering services.
  • To provide line management and supervision for staff within non-clinical services.
  • Participate and oversee the HR and administration department for the site, ensuring all relevant functions are completed and actively address any arising HR or administration issues
  • Ensure the maintenance of the site is maintained, supervising the day-to-day issues, ensuring that all utilities are in working order, dealing with any problems, which may arise, and seeking solutions to problems.
  • Overlook the catering functions, providing support to day-to-day issues and dealing with any problems arising within the Catering Department.
  • Overlook the House Keeping functions, providing support to day-to-day issues and dealing with any problems arising within the House Keeping Department
  • Monitoring of all Company vehicles, ensuring that they are fully services, MOT and taxed and dealing with any related issues.
  • To act as Health and Safety lead, identifying Health and Safety issues, promoting a safe working environment and looking at ways to improve site safety and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the setting of budget for relevant areas of responsibility and monitor and manage expenditure against those budgets – reporting status on a regular basis to the Registered Manager
  • Delegated responsibility for the upkeep, dissemination, monitoring and implementation of all regulatory and Hospital action plans pertaining to the non-clinical services
  • Delegated responsibility for producing regular reports to the SMT on regulatory compliance/performance against action plans for non-clinical services
  • Deputise on occasions for the Registered manager for patient, resident and staff related functions and play an active role on site and as part of the senior management team.
  • Attend corporate meetings as required by the Registered Manager
  • Ensure that there is appropriate administrative support in place to support the work of the Centre – taking in to account budget parameters
  • Support the local estates department to deliver their objectives
  • To work with the SMT to address performance management and disciplinary requirements within the staff group.
  • Participate in on-call rota.
