Part-time (21 hours) Monday - Wednesday

Salary Range: £20,000- £22,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Contract Ends: 31.12.2023

Job Purpose

To provide data collection support to HarvestEye for potatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, apples with the ability to lift and move these items (max 10kg). The role-holder will work with our in-house data collection systems to provide quality data to support the development of HarvestEye. Data collection may be undertaken in a variety of locations and settings, including a workshop and in the field.

Job description

This role is for an individual to provide support to the HarvestEye technical team by being responsible for data collection in different technical environments. The job holder will be expected to follow test plans set by the line manager, or other relevant members of the technical and managerial team. The test plans may require work to be done in an office or workshop environment, and in field environments local to Lincolnshire.

The role will involve the following objectives:

  • Manually collect data from identified crops (80%)
  • Support collection of crops from nearby growers for analysis (15%)
  • Work with technical team to create test plans and communicate results (5%)

Working Relationships

This role will report to Dr Mercedes Torres Torres and will work with various crops and departmental teams, including the engineering department. The job holder is expected to treat all colleagues fairly, with respect and without bias.

Required Skills

  • Clean UK Driving Licence
  • Attention to detail
  • Good record keeping
  • Ability to follow strict test protocols
  • Good oral and written communication

  • Any experience within the agricultural sector
