    About the Role

    IDX Group are seeking a Group Financial Controller to manage the financial accounting and reporting, payroll, and accounts payable functions of the consolidated Group.

    Reporting to the General Manager of Finance, you will ensure all reporting and compliance obligations are met effectively through managing the day-to-day financial activities of the business as well as preparing internal and external reporting and compliance related tasks.

    You will be accountable for financial and management accounts, including the production of Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee (ARCC), Board and all periodic management reports as you lead a finance group to include financial accountants, payroll, and accounts payable teams.

    Assisting in driving success through strong communication and leadership, you will demonstrate effective relationship management, strong analytical skills, and a practical approach to communicating the IDX purpose and values to stakeholders. As a key member of the team, you will be building valuable long-term relationships with the Senior Management Group (SMG) and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), along with Audit Risk and Compliance Committee.

    Key Responsibilities
    About You

    You will be valued and respected for a dedication, reliability, and highly motivated professional knowledge in your role, that will have the following attributes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance with CPA/CA and previous experience working in a large, multi-site, listed environment.

  • Strong knowledge of, and experience with, technical accounting standards.

  • Budgeting and forecasting experience.

  • Tax effect accounting experience and understanding of the direct and indirect tax environment.

  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team and provide clear direction and support to team members around day-to-day finance activities.

  • Strong business and financial acumen with high attention to detail and professionalism.

  • Experience in preparing ARCC and Board reports.

  • Strong ability to successfully communicate with all stakeholders.

  • High level organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure, problem solve and address competing priorities to achieve results.


  • Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the financial accounting and reporting process, including monthly periodic reporting, ASX financial reporting obligations,

  • Assisting in the financial budgeting and forecasting process.

  • Administration of key financial reporting systems, including WorkDay and Adaptive Planning to ensure a robust control environment, and champion full usage of the systems capabilities to drive productivity.

  • Lead and develop the financial accounting and reporting team to ensure timely financial reporting, month end close, and ASX reporting requirements are underpinned by a robust financial close control environment.

  • Oversee the payroll and accounts payable teams, ensuring processes operate in a well-controlled and efficient manner.

  • Play lead role in managing external audit to ensure a robust and timely half year and full year end reporting process.

  • Preparation of reports to the Senior Leadership Team, ARCC, Board and other key stakeholders.

  • Liaising and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
