We deliver information capabilities to the Armed Forces, with a scope that includes everything from digital, cyber defence, artificial intelligence, data protection and operating complex IT systems to military radios, military satellites and information security. With an annual operating budget in excess of £2Bn and a fantastic diverse team of 2,500 military, civilian and contractors operating across the UK and worldwide, it is a great time to be an information professional in UK Defence!

Due to security and information access restriction, the role is only open to a sole BRITISH national.

This position is advertised at 36/37 hours per week Tacos Dependant

Job description

The role will work closely with and provide direct support to the Head of Establishment Above Secret (AS) infrastructure services. You will deputise for and act as critical resilience for the Head of Establishment role and as such will need to work across blurred boundaries able to step in and out of priority taskings as agreed with Head of Establishment or as availability of Head of Establishment allows including preparation and attendance for stakeholder and management meetings.

You will ensure Head of Establishment is fully briefed and kept abreast of all issues, risks, incidents, successes and matters for escalation and will act as the conduit for ensuring teams are kept aware of strategic issues affecting their output or well-being.

The role is accountable for undertaking activities that enable the management of AS physical infrastructure and provide assurance for the unique safety, security, resilience, and operational aspects of the business in support of its Corporate Objectives.

It will include:

  • Engagement with internal and external stakeholders to solve problems and provide advice and guidance to support the service delivery of above secret services and systems, ensuring infrastructure and processes to support these systems are compliant with statutory legislation and departmental policy, rules and guidance
  • Provide expert guidance, support and management advice for new AS infrastructure requirements
  • Provide safety, security, resilience and operational support at existing AS establishments, enclaves and at sites where Defence Digital have AS lodger facilities

A full job description is available for this role and can be obtained by contacting the hiring manager on the below email.

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station will be in central London) and working remotely. However, based on a business assessment of where certain work can be undertaken there is a requirement for you to be based on site at your permanent duty station 3 days a week as a minimum and you will also probably need to visit remote sites at least 1 day a week.

The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.
