Job Description

  • Responsible for the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting of Overheads and Headcount, ensuring forecasts are robust and flagging risks and opportunities to the forecast and how they can be mitigated or realised to deliver the annual profit target.
  • Leading monthly/quarterly review meetings with cost centre owners to provide cost visibility and value-added analysis, ensuring ownership in meeting their financial spending targets.
  • Accountable for data transfers, system loads and reconciliations of budget/forecast/actuals data
  • Ownership of global Overhead and Headcount reporting and analysis, including the development and monitoring of efficiency and effectiveness metrics (e.g. average people cost per FTE).
  • Preparing the Overheads content for the monthly Business Review Pack by analysing business results and providing commentary and insights, as well as understanding and challenging monthly variances vs. Budget/PY where necessary.
  • Supporting the Control team with month-end processes such as requesting month-end journals and validating FTE data.
  • Acting as the Finance Business Partner to the POD, IT and Sustainability teams, providing financial support, insight and independent challenge to assess key decisions and drive key strategies and initiatives (e.g. evaluating new business opportunities).

The Successful Applicant

  • 1-3 years of experience in Commercial Finance, Sales Finance or Marketing Finance
  • Part qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA)
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal - able to tell the story behind the numbers and translate your findings in a way that is easy to understand for all audiences
  • Commercially aware - demonstrates an awareness of the key business drivers and the wider industry to make informed recommendations.
  • Comfortable working with complex data and systems. Able to interrogate data to provide value add analysis and to present this in a way that is accessible to others.
