LEGAL COUNSEL MEDIA/ENTERTAINMENT
Our entertainment client is a network of iconic, multi-platform brands. It is one of the UK’s largest media groups and is the UK’s biggest magazine publisher as well as biggest digital commercial audio broadcaster. We are working exclusively and on a retained basis with their General Counsel to find a Legal Counsel to join their team.
Operating in 15 countries the legal team provides legal support to the audio and magazine publishing businesses. As Legal Counsel, the key purpose of your role will be to deliver commercially focused legal and risk management support and expertise across all areas of those dynamic and varied businesses.
Day to day you will provide counsel to the business on a range of contentious and non-contentious legal matters across its operations, with a focus on IP, media law and general commercial issues.
You will draft, review, and negotiate agreements covering the full breadth of the business’s commercial activities, including sponsorship and promotions, events, talent engagement, advertising sales, ad tech, marketing, media rights and media content licensing. You will also advise on brand protection and use and coordinate IP enforcement solutions. In return you will be trusted with a broad range of challenging and interesting work in a team that values individuals and offers flexibility alongside a great work-life balance. Hybrid working is firmly in place here as is a meritocratic environment where output and delivery is rewarded and not presenteeism.
