Are you an Assistant or Project Quantity Surveyor with previous experience in Build projects? Here at Anderselite, we are recruiting on behalf of leading Main contractor on their project based in North London.

Our client has asked us to identify a Quantity Surveyor who understands the sub-contract procurement process and commercial management. The ideal candidate would have previously worked on similar projects and be able to manage costs to ensure the company and client are fully informed of the commercial situation.

Duties include:

• Overseeing cost-analysis and estimating process against an agreed Schedule of Rates.
• Control over all expenditure and to reconcile cost/value reports and profit forecasts.
• To assist the Operations Manager with pre-start planning and programming.
• Selection of sub-contractors for works including procurement and commercial management.
• Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts, including processing sub-contractor payment requests.
• Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities.
• Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout.
• Liaise with the Commercial Manager / Operations Manager over contractual issues and act as required.
• Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner in accordance with the contracts.
• Completing a monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designated projects and attending project and company related meetings.

The successful candidate will have:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Experience working on Build projects for Main Contractor.
• Post graduate experience working in the role, reporting to a Senior QS / Commercial Manager.
• Training for or certification in RICS/MRICS would be ideal.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, levels of numeracy and influencing skills
