The Buckinghamshire Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic therapist to join the team. You will be a member of our inpatient stroke speech and language therapy service, mainly working on the stroke wards at Wycombe Hospital. There may also be opportunity to spend time working on the neuro rehabilitation ward at Amersham hospital.
You will be joining a supportive team at an exciting period of time, as we look to implement pharyngeal electrical stimulation, expiratory muscle strength training, biozoon, web/app based communication therapies and patient and carer education and support in the acute phase of stroke rehab. You will work in an established MDT where SLT input is valued and respected.
Post-graduate dysphagia training is essential for this post, and you will be supported to continue to develop your dysphagia competencies as well as FEES and VF competencies.
The stroke SLT team sits within the wider Adult SLT service, which covers acute to community provision. The service is 18.5 wte therapists and you would be integrated into the wider team. The team has a focus on compassionate leadership, staff well-being and valuing every member of the team for their unique contributions.
